Notice To Stop Payment Of Check
If you paid for goods or services that, once delivered, were not as presented, you may decide to "stop payment of check" with your bank as leverage to get the problem resolved. After you have called your bank to "stop payment of check, you should confirm with two copies of your request in writing. It is important to note the time limit for which your bank will maintain the stop payment order. It is also important to note that unless you notify the vendor of your actions and immediately begin a resolution process, you may be at risk of fraud charges. Any financial issue such as this that remains unresolved could end up on your credit report.
